Patient Food Bank
Food is a sensitive issue for a Venezuelan refugee. The reason why most were forced to emigrate was due to food shortages. Last year the average Venezuelan lost 23lbs. Consider this, Venezuelan soldiers are paid in food to maintain their loyalty to the current regime. That sheds light on the main reason Venezuelan refugees flocking to dozens of other nations looking for work opportunities: they are attempting to send money home to keep their families alive. For these reasons, we offer a small token of empathy and send every patient that qualifies for a free medical appointment home with food. Sometimes it’s a hot meal, sometimes it’s a food kit, depending on what we have to share that day. Regardless, the food is always handed out from a compassionate heart that sees them and does not diminish the sacrifices they’re made and the hardships they’ve overcome.
